Appointments

calendarWe offer a variety of appointments for our doctors to try and accommodate the needs of all our patients.

All appointments are booked on our computer system by phoning, or visiting reception. Appointments are for 10 minutes, and each appointment is for one person only.

On The Day Appointments

These appointments are available to book each morning from 08:00.They are designed to allow patients to make their appointment on the day they want to be seen and are ideal for sudden illnesses and problems when you wish to be seen quickly. As most of our doctors are part-time they may not consult every day of the week, but there is always a choice of GP's available.

Pre-Bookable Appointments

Our pre-book appointments can be booked up to 14 days in advance and are designed for patients who may need to arrange time off work, childcare, etc. and want to plan their appointment time. These are best for 'non urgent' problems, follow-up or if patients wish to see a specific doctor who may not be available every day.

Telephone Appointments

All our doctors offer daily pre-bookable telephone consultations. These are suitable for problems not requiring a face to face contact e.g. requests for medication, requests for medical reports, advice on test results, minor illness advice and follow-up of certain problems. If you choose a telephone appointment the doctor will phone you back at a pre-arranged time.

If are unable to get an appointment and feel you must be seen that day the receptionist will arrange for one of the GP’s or nurses, to phone you back for further information.

Telephone Advice

We have a triage doctor available every day from 09:00 to midday and 14:00 to 18:00 to offer telephone advice. If you feel you need to speak to a doctor but that your problem could be dealt with over the phone then please ask the receptionist if a doctor could phone you back. You will need to leave a number where you can be contacted.

Unlike our pre-bookable telephone appointments we are not able to guarantee which of our doctors will phone you or an exact time. If you leave a mobile number please remember to have your phone available and switched on at all times.

Evening Appointments

One night a week we have an evening surgery with appointments available after 18:00.

These appointments are pre-bookable only and are specifically designed for those patients who work or have daytime commitments and therefore find it difficult to attend during our normal daytime hours.

Treatment Roomdistrict_nurse

Our Treatment Room nurses have appointments every morning between 09:00 and 12:00 and between 14:00 and 16:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.

These appointments are suitable for dressings and wound checks, removal of sutures, urine and pregnancy tests, specialist injections e.g. B12, blood pressure checks, and advice on a whole variety of other matters. Well Woman appointments are also available for smear tests.

All appointments can be booked in person or by phoning 0141 427 4271. If you are unsure whether the nurse can deal with your problem, please ask our receptionists and they should be able to assist you.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
